Temporada 1

Cardano’s ProtocolMajor Parameter & the Hard Fork Combinator

Most upgrades break stuff. Cardano’s don’t—and there’s a reason why. In this episode, we peep the ProtocolMajor parameter AND the Hard Fork Combinator: the simple system that lets Cardano pull off major upgrades without the drama. No crashes, no chaos, just smooth progress. If you’re staking, building, or just along for the ride, you should know how it all works.

Cardano’s Dustbuster: How Coins_per_UTXO_word Keeps Things Clean

Ever wonder what happens to the digital “loose change” left after Cardano transactions? In this episode, we’re learning about Coins_per_UTXO_word—the parameter that keeps the Cardano blockchain tidy, efficient, and ready to scale. From preventing transaction “dust” to improving security and speed, this clever rule is why your experience on Cardano feels clean and seamless.

Cardano’s τ Parameter: Where Math Meets Governance

What does a tiny Greek letter have to do with Cardano’s future? This week, we look at τ (tau)—the Treasury Growth Rate parameter—and how it shapes Cardano’s values, governance, and long-term sustainability. From staking rewards to funding innovation through Project Catalyst, τ is more than a number—it’s a vision.

Keeping the Lights On: The Story of Cardano's Min_Pool_Cost

Why did Cardano cut its min_pool_cost in half? And what does that mean for the future of stake pools and decentralization? This week, we break down one of the network’s most debated parameters—how it works, why it matters, and the tough trade-offs between fair access and financial sustainability. Whether you’re a delegator, a stake pool operator, or just Cardano-curious, this episode gives you the full story.

Water your plants and check your pool: Cardano's Max_Epoch parameter

You’ve been faithfully staking your Ada — but what if it’s snoozing instead of stacking rewards? In this episode, we talk about the max_epoch parameter -- the Cardano setting that quietly governs the timeline for retiring pools. You’ll learn how to spot a retiring pool, what happens if you miss the signs, and how a 2-minute check can save you months of lost rewards. Whether you're new to staking or just forgot to check your plants — er, pools — this one’s for you.

This Proposal Will Self-Destruct in 30 Days: Cardano's Gov_Action_Lifetime Parameter

In the age of Voltaire and on-chain governance, how will Cardano keeps its proposals from turning into a bureaucratic junk drawer? In this episode, we'll explain the gov_action_lifetime parameter. It puts a time limit on every governance proposal, ensuring decisions are made while they’re still relevant. From binding blockchain upgrades to cultural “info actions” like naming a hard fork, we’ll explain how expiration keeps community-led change clear, timely, and efficient. And yes, we will absolutely compare it to expired lunch meat. Because even ideas smell better when they’re fresh.

Skin in the Game: Cardano’s Governance_Action_Deposit Parameter

Want to propose a change to Cardano? That’ll be 100,000 ada, please. Let's talk about the governance action deposit—the hefty but refundable fee that puts some skin in the game for anyone submitting a proposal. It’s designed to prevent spam and keep Cardano’s new governance era focused and fair. We’ll explore why it exists, how it works, and what tools like CoSponsor are doing to make powerful ideas more accessible. If you’re curious how decentralization stays organized—or just wondering why there aren’t more proposals about bananas—this episode has answers.

Max Lovelace Supply - The Number that Can Never Change

What if a money system couldn’t print more money—ever? No bailouts, no late-night policy shifts, no surprise inflation. In this episode, learn about one of Cardano’s fundamental design choices: the max_lovelace_supply—a parameter that can never be changed. If you’re Cardano-curious or just interested in how decentralized systems rethink money, this quick explainer will give you a new appreciation for the number that anchors it all..

The Goldilocks Dilemma: Cardano's K parameter

How decentralized should Cardano be? More pools sounds better… until it isn’t. In this episode, we're thinking about the Optimal_pool_count parameter - otherwise known as the K Parameter. It's the tiny letter that helps decide how many stake pools thrive, how rewards are distributed, and how power stays spread across the network. How does k work, how does it shape decentralization, and what could happen if the community raises (or doesn’t raise) it in the future. It’s a “just right” kind of story—part economics, part governance, part Goldilocks fable for crypto nerds.

Inside Cardano’s Anti-Spam Mechanism: Min_UTXO_Value

Why does your wallet insist on holding a little extra ADA you can’t actually send? Tune in to learn about min_utxo_value: the little parameter that keeps Cardano clean & efficient. Learn how this rule prevents spam, protects the ledger from “digital dust,” and even helped blunt a 2024 denial-of-service attack—where the attacker literally ended up paying someone else to stop them.
