Common Sense in a World That’s Lost Its Mind | Let ’R Rip Podcast
DeWayne Maynard, better known online as Crews Control / CRWSCNTRL never planned on becoming a voice followed by more than a million people. He started recording his thoughts, questioning what he was seeing around him, and saying what he actually believed. Then everything changed. His content exploded online, his platform grew, and suddenly a guy sharing his perspective found himself in the middle of conversations about politics, culture, race, family, fatherhood and the direction of America. But this episode isn’t about picking a political team. It’s about thinking for yourself. On Season 2, Episode 6 of the Let ’R Rip Podcast, Jake Sirokman and Mikey Getz sit down with Crew for an unfiltered conversation about what happens when common sense collides with a culture increasingly built around outrage, algorithms and political division. Crew explains why he doesn’t blindly follow one political side. He grew up in a Democratic family and openly acknowledges there are things he agrees with on the left and things he believes the conservative side gets wrong. His approach is much simpler: look at what’s actually happening, question it, do your homework and form your own opinion. The conversation gets into the pressure to think a certain way because of your race, demographic or political affiliation; why Crew sometimes waits 24 hours or longer before reacting to breaking stories; and why critical thinking has become increasingly important in an environment where being first often matters more than being right. From there, things go everywhere. Politics as reality television. Social-media fear mongering. Political polarization. The Tupac case. Traveling across America and discovering that real communities often look very different from how they’re portrayed online. The difference between digital outrage and actual human interaction. Then the conversation moves somewhere even more important: Home. Fatherhood. Raising children. Protecting your family. Building stronger communities. Men’s responsibility. Faith. Prayer. Gratitude. And the idea that waiting for politicians or institutions to repair society may be completely backwards. For Crew, his kids are the foundation. He talks about getting up and leading his family even when he’s exhausted, beginning his day with prayer and ending it praying with his children. Crew also opens up about the other side of having a massive platform, the hate. The insults. The DMs. The people who attack him because his opinions don’t fit the box they believe he should occupy. Instead of living inside the comment section, he has learned not to feed it. His online presence isn’t his entire life. Family comes first, and the structure inside his home matters more than spending every waking hour fighting strangers online. The conversation ultimately comes back to something much bigger than social media. Whether you agree or disagree, think for yourself. 🎙️ Guest: DeWayne Maynard - Crews Control / CRWSCNTRL 🎙️ Hosts: Jake Sirokman & Mikey Getz 🎧 Let ’R Rip Podcast - Season 2, Episode 6
We’ve Become Too Comfortable Being Victims - Petty Crocker | Let 'R Rip
Everybody has an opinion online. Far fewer people are willing to slow down, question what they’re being told, and stand behind what they actually believe. In Season 2, Episode 5 of the Let ’R Rip Podcast, Jake Sirokman and Mikey Getz sit down with Amber Ford, better known online as Petty Crocker, for a raw conversation about faith, family, social media, political commentary, personal responsibility, motherhood, preparedness, and why Amber believes Americans need to start thinking and acting with greater purpose. Known online as @pettycrocker88, Amber has built an audience around direct cultural and political commentary mixed with Christian faith, Southern personality, motherhood and patriotism. But this conversation goes deeper than politics. Amber opens up about losing her father at 15, growing up through financial hardship and family trauma, refusing to let those circumstances define her life, and why she has such little patience for a culture that rewards permanent victimhood. She also explains why she doesn’t immediately react to every breaking story online, why credibility matters more than being first, how she researches topics before speaking publicly, the difference between having convictions and blindly following political personalities, the role faith plays in her worldview, and why she believes change has to begin inside our homes and local communities. In this episode: • Why Amber started speaking publicly about politics and culture • How Petty Crocker became her online voice • Why being first isn’t worth sacrificing credibility • Outrage culture and the race to go viral • Critical thinking in the social-media era • Faith versus political worship • Personal responsibility versus permanent victimhood • Overcoming trauma without letting it become your identity • Motherhood, family and protecting the next generation • Why meaningful change starts inside the home • Building stronger local communities • Women’s self-defense, preparedness and situational awareness • Knowing your purpose before speaking publicly • Why Amber says it’s time to stop talking and start living with intention The episode also includes Amber’s personal opinions and interpretations of disputed political events and disaster-response issues. Those portions represent the guest’s views and should not be understood as independently established facts; for example, official records document Hurricane Helene making landfall as a Category 4 hurricane before producing catastrophic inland impacts. 👇 What stood out to you most: personal responsibility, critical thinking, faith, or the need to strengthen our communities? How to Build a Clothing Brand That Actually Lasts with Jeff Baustert | Let 'R Rip
What if everything you’ve been told about building a clothing brand is wrong? Anyone can print a T-shirt. Building a brand people actually believe in is a completely different game. Jeff Baustert spent years making little to no money while building Iron & Ink, proving that longevity isn’t built on hype, it’s built on consistency, quality, and refusing to quit. On this episode of the Let ’R Rip Podcast, Jake Sirokman and Mikey Getz sit down with Jeff Baustert, founder of Iron & Ink Clothing Co. and drummer of Throw The Fight, for a raw conversation about what it really takes to build a successful apparel brand from the ground up. Jeff shares the real story behind Iron & Ink’s journey, from designing his first shirts with no experience, learning every aspect of manufacturing and screen printing, surviving the early years with little profit, growing an authentic community, landing in Tillys, partnering with musicians and tattoo artists, and why most clothing brands fail long before they ever have a chance to succeed. In this episode, we discuss: • Why “the market is saturated” is the biggest excuse entrepreneurs make • Anyone can print a shirt, but building a real brand is the hard part • The truth about apparel manufacturing, quality control, and sourcing garments • Merch vs. apparel and why there is a difference • How Iron & Ink landed major retail partnerships without sacrificing its identity • Building an authentic brand through consistency instead of hype • Working with musicians, tattoo artists, and creators to build community • Organic growth vs. paid advertising and what actually moves the needle • Why customer experience will always outperform clever marketing • The mindset required to survive years before seeing real success If you’re building a business, launching a clothing brand, creating content, making music, tattooing, or simply chasing something bigger than yourself, this episode is packed with lessons you can apply immediately. Jolt Cola, Bad Decisions & Season 2 | Jake & Mikey Let It Rip
Season 2, Episode 2 | Jake & Mikey Are Back Jake and Mikey are back for Season 2 of the Let R Rip Podcast—and this time, there’s no guest, no real plan, and apparently way too much Jolt Cola. What starts as a simple catch-up quickly turns into East Coast vs. West Coast trash talk, questionable beverage reviews, travel stories, bad jokes, random tangents, and the kind of conversation that happens when two longtime friends are left completely unsupervised with microphones. Jake shares stories from his recent trip to New York, why he finally stepped away from the laptop, and how learning to be present has changed the way he experiences life. Mikey reflects on his travels through Montana and Utah, why he no longer wants to be defined by a single title, and somehow manages to turn a conversation about Jolt Cola into an identity crisis. Along the way, they talk about taking a break from the podcast, embracing new experiences, friendship, creativity, travel, family, and the simple reality that life is a lot more fun when you stop trying to control every outcome. Mostly, though, this episode is exactly what Let R Rip is all about—two friends talking shit, laughing at each other, going completely off the rails, and somehow stumbling into a few meaningful conversations along the way. In This Episode: The return of Let R Rip for Season 2 Mikey’s obsession with Jolt Cola East Coast vs. West Coast Why the podcast took a break Jake’s trip to New York Mikey’s travels through Montana and Utah Living in the moment instead of filming everything Starting new chapters after 40 Tattoo culture, creativity, and identity Friendship, family, and questionable life advice What’s next for Let R Rip No scripts. No polished answers. No fake podcast voices. Just Jake Sirokman and Mikey Getz catching up, talking trash, and letting it rip.

From Addiction to Awakening: Paul Karasik on the Power of Psychedelics
In Episode 19 of the Let R Rip Podcast, Jake Sirokman and Mikey Getz sit down with Paul Karasik, founder and CEO of the Psychedelic Institute of Los Angeles, for a raw and eye-opening conversation about psychedelics, addiction, microdosing, trauma, consciousness, and the future of healing. Paul founded the Psychedelic Institute of Los Angeles in 2020 as a nonprofit organization focused on education, safe access, and community for people exploring higher consciousness. With decades of experience dating back to the psychedelic movement of the 1960s, Paul brings a rare perspective that blends lived experience, recovery, leadership, spirituality, science, and modern psychedelic education. This episode dives deep into the psychedelic renaissance and the growing conversation around plant medicine, LSD, psilocybin, MDMA, DMT, ayahuasca, mescaline, ketamine, microdosing, addiction recovery, trauma healing, anxiety, depression, and spiritual awakening. Paul breaks down why psychedelics are not simply about “getting high,” but about creating space from the ego, interrupting destructive mental patterns, and opening the door to deeper self-awareness. The conversation explores the default mode network, neuroplasticity, integration, safe use, intentional preparation, and why the experience itself means nothing without real-life change afterward. Jake also opens up about his own past with drugs, alcohol, cocaine, mushrooms, LSD, MDMA, and microdosing, sharing how intentional psychedelic experiences with his wife have helped create deeper connection, emotional awareness, and spiritual clarity. Mikey brings a grounded perspective from the lens of addiction, fear, sobriety, and the concern around people using psychedelics without proper guidance or intention. This is not a surface-level conversation about psychedelics. This is a real discussion about suffering, addiction, healing, consciousness, spiritual bypassing, ego death, safe access, and the responsibility that comes with using powerful tools. If you are curious about microdosing, psychedelic therapy, trauma recovery, plant medicine, addiction, higher consciousness, or the future of mental health, this episode is for you.
