Growing up in the Boogie-Down Bronx, he survived the crack era. A move to Puerta Rico to save his life was a whole different life to adjust to. He endured brutal abuse due to discrimination on a naval ship; he continued to live a maverick life. When he finally broke down in front of his son, he had to now accept responsibility.
