Imposter Syndrome seems to be a theme among our successful female clients (and each of us) so we explore it today. Why do we give this term so much weight and control over the way we should BE or show up in a role? What is it really? And is it really a thing? From Oxford Languages, the definition of IMPOSTER is “a person who pretends to be someone else in order to deceive others, especially for fraudulent gain”.In our experience, successful women are neither attempting to be deceitful nor attempting to gain by means of fraud. We explore examples in profession and life while attempting to successfully raise teens and tweens - ARGH! Even more importantly, the word syndrome sounds so clinical, serious and chronic.
