We all have songs and albums that mean something to us. Records that serve as a soundtrack to a time, songs that propel you back to a moment, and most importantly—a feeling. As an artist; it’s a special feat. A privilege, and a promise that you’ll be engraved in a memory. It’s especially profound when yourself, or a peer, pulls off this performance.
My next guest—did this. She created a record that serves and stands-- as a soundtrack to a time. A batch of songs that feel staggeringly personal, contrasted with cutesy and ethereal, and melancholy and magical—often all at the same time.
This record is 20 years old now. I wanted to learn more about this mysterious, sad and sweet record.
