Corporate Burnout to Wellness Chef: Gut Health, Trusting Your Body & Healing Food
On the I Got a Girl podcast, Jackie interviews Jocelyn Martinez, a wellness chef and gut health mentor who now partners with Jackie on her retreat team as her personal chef.. Jocelyn shares her background in restaurants, mixology, and corporate food roles, and explains how a years-long health crisis after her daughter’s birth, later identified as systemic lupus, forced major lifestyle and diet changes. She describes how chronic stress and 60–70 hour workweeks worsened her symptoms, leading her to leave corporate work and eventually go all-in on Soul Smile Health and Wellness. Jocelyn emphasizes learning to trust your body and rebuilding a relationship with it, using food as medicine, sourcing locally, and creating intentional healing meals that reduce inflammation and help you feel nourished.
