What happens when struggling with school leads you to discover neuroscience?

In Episode 2 of Shell We Talk?, we’re joined by Deborah “Debbie” Quachey, a high school student and the founder of Molecules & Mindsets, joining us from Accra, Ghana.

Debbie shares how her own struggles with focus, burnout, and school in eighth grade led her to explore neuroscience and discover the concept of neuroplasticity. What began as an effort to better understand and support herself eventually inspired her to create Molecules & Mindsets, a podcast where she explores neuroscience and the science behind how our brains work.

We talk about the experiences that inspired Debbie to start her podcast, what neuroscience has taught her, and why she wants other people to know that struggling doesn't mean you're incapable. We also dive into her love for biology, art, music, creativity, and school life, as well as what it's like balancing her interests with building something of her own as a high school student.
