Believed to be declaring for the PWHL Draft, and with Anna Shokhina and Fanuza Kadirova figuring out the North American game and beginning to contribute, the door is wide open for more Russians to come to the league. NHL Playoffs: Glen Metropolit shares his view on the Tampa Bay Lightning vs Montreal Canadiens series
Lightning Return Home After Wild Series Shift at Bell Centre in Montreal. The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Montreal Canadiens' playoff battle continues after a dramatic, physical stretch that sent the series to Montreal and then shifted it back to Tampa. It's 2-2. Before the road trip, former NHL player Glenn Metropolit shared what makes the Bell Centre one of hockey’s toughest playoff environments. “You can’t even hear your teammates talk to you. That’s how loud it is.” Metropolit said the crowd noise creates major communication challenges and can become a real factor during key moments. His advice for the Tampa Bay Lightning was straightforward: “They’ve got to play a simple game. Get the puck north, get it behind their D.” He also stressed that playoff success often comes from unexpected contributors: “A lot of guys that step up are fourth-liners, third-liners that are grinders.” Metropolit praised the pace and intensity of the series, calling it everything fans love about postseason hockey. “It’s playoff hockey. Nikita Kucherov is on fire. Will he win his second Hart Trophy? It's a complicated off-ice journey. Daria Mironova and Ken Filler of the Tampa Bay Sports Journal discuss the Tampa Bay Lightning's week, filled with penalty minutes, fights, and defensive issues. Luckily, Thursday’s 4-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings was an important confidence boost for the Bolts. Jake Guentzel and Gage Goncalves each scored twice. The hosts improved to one hooking penalty in 60 minutes. Nikita Kucherov collected two assists to total 106 points in the season and 1100 in his NHL career. This incredible achievement put him in 19th place in the league’s history to reach 1100 points in fewer than 900 contests. He has points in nine consecutive games. Andrei Vasilevskiy celebrated his 30th win in the 2025-26 campaign. It's his ninth consecutive season with 30+ wins. Golden Florida Hockey, Nikita Kucherov is on fire, Tampa Bay Lightning's schedule, Florida Panthers battles for a playoff spot.
Congratulations to the Men's and Women's USA Hockey teams for becoming the 2026 Olympic champions. We love everyone and are so proud of your achievements. Seven Florida Panthers players have become medalists: one gold medal for Matthew Tkachuk, three silver medals for Canadians, and three for Finns. The Tampa Bay Lightning have two medalists: Jake Guentzel (USA) and Brandon Hagel (Canada). NHL hockey is back! Nikita Kucherov collected two goals and two assists in the first two games after the Olympic break. But the last game of February against the Buffalo Sabres didn't go so well for the Bolts (6-2). The team has a tough schedule ahead with 16 games in March and 8 more in April. We apologize for some audio issues, as this episode was partially recorded at the ice rink during the SAHOF States.
