✨ ABOUT THE SHAMASH
The shamash (שַׁמָּשׁ) is the helper candle used to light the menorah during Hanukkah.
In Hebrew, the word means “servant,” “attendant,” or “one who ministers.” Unlike the other eight candles — which represent the eight nights — the shamash stands apart, set higher or lower on the menorah,and its whole purpose is to give its flame away. That exists to kindle lights in others.
