So I'm asking the ridiculous question that is starting to look considerably less ridiculous... COULD SPIDER-MAN ACTUALLY BECOME THE FIRST $3 BILLION MOVIE?! In this video, I'm diving into this absolutely bonkers box-office run and looking at why I genuinely believe $3 billion is realistic. 🇬🇧 The UK alone is closing in on $100 million. 🌍 International audiences are turning up in enormous numbers. ☀️ The school holidays are in full swing. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Families and kids could give this movie serious staying power. 🎟️ And Spider-Man still has plenty of theatrical life left. The opening weekend was the explosion. Now we find out whether this movie has LEGS. Could it reach $2 billion? Could it smash through $2.5 billion? Could it take down Avatar? Then it’s time for zombies, questionable decisions and my verdict on Resident Evil: a solid 7/10. It made me laugh, made me smile, got a few “oohs” out of me and possibly scared me a little. I’m judging it as a film rather than comparing it with the games, because I’m not a big Resident Evil gamer. Did I have a good time? Absolutely. Sometimes that’s enough. We also get into the talk of Rockstar’s $400 box of goodies. No game? No soundtrack? What exactly are we paying for here—the privilege of owning the box? With GTA 6 hype this big, I reckon it’ll sell out anyway. Let’s discuss. Next up: Heat 2. Can a follow-up deliver? Before we get there, I’ve got a critique of the original Heat that might make a few people reach for the comments section. It’s my opinion, and I suspect I’m about to find out just how unpopular it is. The arguments continue with two big matchups: • The Gentlemen vs MobLand — which one deserves the crown? • Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End vs Delicious in Dungeon — which fantasy adventure comes out on top? Will anyone EVER topple my list of absolute perfection? You’re welcome to try. Just bring your best arguments and a healthy tolerance for sarcasm. This week on hEaD Pop, we’re challenging you to our ultimate tier-list showdown: The Simpsons games are getting ranked, and our TV-show tier quiz is ready to expose the difference between “I watch a lot of telly” and “I actually know what I’m talking about.” Expect controversial placements, unnecessary confidence and at least one opinion that should probably come with an apology. We’re also taking another look at KELBROOKE, before getting into The Gentlemen season two. For me, it’s absolutely superb and right up there with season one. And that music? I loved it. It gives me Casino and The Godfather Part II vibes — the sort of soundtrack that makes a perfectly ordinary walk to the fridge feel like organised crime. Then it’s time for GTA 6 and a physical-media debate: talk of a physical soundtrack release has me asking what we actually want to own when we buy a game. Give me the box. Give me the disc. Let me dramatically place something on a shelf. We’re also discussing The Fall 2. Enjoyable? Yes. Would I recommend it? Yes. Am I rushing to watch it again? Probably not. Sometimes a film gets one visit, a polite handshake and no invitation to stay. And then comes the anime dilemma: Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End versus Delicious in Dungeon. Two brilliant shows, one deeply unreliable decision-maker. Delicious in Dungeon is one of my absolute favourites, and the anticipation for season two isn’t helping me stay impartial. But which anime takes the top spot? I have an answer. It may change before I finish the sentence. We're heading back to Springfield and ranking the greatest episodes from The Simpsons Seasons 1–3! Which episodes belong in GOD TIER? Which classics haven't aged quite as perfectly as we remember? Part Two will tackle Seasons 4–8, otherwise known as the period where trying to pick the best Simpsons episodes becomes a form of psychological warfare. 🎬 THE ULTIMATE MOVIE SCENE QUIZ! I've been watching The Apothecary Diaries, and it's rapidly becoming one of my favourite anime. The characters. The mystery. The humour. Maomao. I GET IT NOW. 🎮 AND THEN THERE'S GTA 6... How enormous is this game actually going to be? We're talking about the black-hole-sized, star-swallowing gravitational monster of the gaming industry. GTA 6 isn't just going to launch. It's going to ARRIVE. This thing looks absolutely gigantic, the anticipation is ridiculous, and I cannot wait to finally get my hands on it. So grab your Duff, prepare your tier lists, practise identifying films from random screenshots and cancel your plans for whenever GTA 6 finally consumes civilisation... Can somebody finally overthrow the hEaD Pop Tier List Champion? Can someone construct a list more perfect than mine? Or will everyone once again learn the painful truth that my completely unbiased and definitely-not-made-up ranking system is simply unbeatable? Come on then. Challenge accepted. 😂 🕷️ SPIDER-MAN IS ALREADY A $1 BILLION MONSTER! Spider-Man has absolutely exploded at the box office, racing to the $1 BILLION mark. But I want to ask a much bigger and slightly ridiculous question: COULD THIS ACTUALLY BECOME THE FIRST $3 BILLION MOVIE?! It sounds bonkers... but just how high can Spider-Man climb? We’re looking at the numbers, the hype and whether this thing has enough web left to swing its way towards box-office history. 🎮 GTA 6 + NETFLIX = ADVERTISING GENIUS?! Netflix showing a GTA 6 preview/advert on its streaming service caught my attention because I think this is absolutely fantastic business. Now, do I want Netflix to become one enormous advert machine where I'm halfway through a film and suddenly someone starts trying to sell me a virtual sports car? No. But as a special promotional event? This is clever. Netflix gets people talking, GTA 6 gets itself in front of an enormous streaming audience, and suddenly a trailer becomes an EVENT. Could this be a glimpse at where streaming advertising is heading, or is it something that only works because GTA 6 is... well... GTA 6?! 🧝‍♀️ YES, WE'RE TALKING ABOUT FRIEREN AGAIN. DEAL WITH IT. Of course we’re going back to Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. Why? Because it’s brilliant. That's the argument. That's the evidence. Case closed. We’re checking in with one of the best anime around and continuing what is rapidly becoming the weekly hEaD Pop tradition of me finding another excuse to talk about Frieren. I regret nothing. 🏰 WAIT... DISNEY ADMITTED SOME FILMS FLOPPED?! And finally, something unusual has happened at Disney... HONESTY?! Disney’s CEO has acknowledged that some of the company’s movies simply haven’t performed as well as expected. No complicated explanation. No pretending everything went according to plan. Some films underperformed. And you know what? I actually respect the honesty. So we’re looking at what was said, which movies struggled, what went wrong and whether Disney acknowledging the problem could actually be the first step towards fixing it. 🔥 ALL THIS AND MORE ON hEaD Pop 0.5!
