Notas del episodio
When injury ended Christian Straka’s professional tennis career, he redirected his focus to mental performance. He’s since coached some of the world’s premier athletes, been the Global Mindset Coach of Adidas Runners, and created the first-of-it’s-kind course connecting mindfulness to athletic performance, which he’s still teaching at the University of Southern California(USC).
Topics include identity shifts, how aversion and want drive our feelings around an event, how awareness affects athletic performance, the power of visualization and pregame routines, how meditation and mindfulness shape our perspectives, why people don’t want to do the work they know they need to do, building resilience through doing the hard thing, and more.
