Loud Songs, Hard Hearts | Psalm 95
Notas del episodio
"If You would just do this, then I would." Most of us have prayed some version of it. Psalm 95 was written for the people who already got their answer, and still asked.
Pastor Tim opens in Exodus 17, at a place called Massah and Meribah, where a nation that had watched ten plagues, walked through a parted sea, and eaten bread off the ground asked out loud, "Is the LORD among us or not?" Then he turns to Psalm 95 and shows you that the psalmist buried that story inside a worship song on purpose.
The psalm starts loud. Sing. Shout. Make a joyful noise. Halfway through it drops to its knees. And then God Himself starts speaking, and it stops being a worship song and becomes a warning.
Three layers of thanks: gratitude, acknowledgement, confession. Most of us only ever practice the first. And you can sing loudly in a service and still listen poorly to the voice of God.
Scripture: Psalm 95, Exodus 15, Exodus 17, Numbers 14, Hebrews 3-4.
