3. Is the American Dream Dead… or Just Different?

In this episode of Gaygents of Pierce County, Guy and Wil ask the big question: is the American Dream dead, or does it just look different now?

From first-time homeownership to buying a second home, house hacking, affordability, debt, down payment assistance, and what it means to build wealth through real estate, this conversation gets personal fast. Guy shares where he is in the process of preparing to buy his first home, while Wil reflects on buying his first property, using homeownership to create financial breathing room, and what his next chapter could look like.

They also talk about what the American Dream looks like through an LGBTQ+ lens, why representation matters in real estate, and how homeownership can still be possible even when the path looks different than the traditional white-picket-fence version.

Whether you are dreaming of a Tacoma townhome, a Pierce County starter home, a condo in the city, or simply trying to figure out if buying is even realistic, this episode is for you.
