The Way of the Cross

The Way of the Cross - Jaden Neufeld March 24, 2024 Forest City Church This Palm Sunday we were grateful to have Jaden Neufeld with us, sharing a compelling teaching examining what it looks like to “die to self”. What does it look like to have to say “no” to some things in order to say “yes” to things of greater, more life giving purpose and fulfilment? The struggle is real, but so is the payoff. People Matter

Wrapping up our series in Jonah, Jordan delivered a message on the fourth and final chapter of this short book. The significance of the conclusion of Jonah is often overlooked. However, the message of this last chapter puts the hypocritical, hard-heartedness of Jonah on display as we see his acceptance of God’s mercy for himself but his lack of grace for the Ninevites. This serves as a powerful image and reminder to us as to God’s love for all people. The real question is - are we more like Jonah than we realize? First time watching? We’d love to hear from you! The God of Second Chances

The God of Second Chances - Amy Baker March 10, 2024 Forest City Church As we begin to wind down our Jonah series - this past Sunday we examined one of, if not the major theme of Jonah - repentance. Often a word with a lot of preconceived negative ideas - what we can learn from Jonah about repentance, both for ourselves and others? The answers may be both full of more hope and love than we realized. First time watching? We’d love to hear from you! Mercy at the Bottom

Mercy at the Bottom - Jordan Baker March 3, 2024 Forest City Church The crux of the story of Jonah is often overshadowed by the infamous detail of Jonah being swallowed by a large fish. However, if we take a deeper look into the softening of Jonah’s heart once he finds himself in this dark lonely place, we are better able to witness two things - 1) God's love & compassion & 2) Our acceptance of this freely given gift. Embracing "The Other"

Embracing "The Other" - Jordan Baker Forest City Church February 25, 2024 This week as we continued our study of the book of Jonah, Jordan unpacked the very common mentality we all wrestle with from time to time - "othering". The idea of us removing the God-given preciousness of others, viewing them through a lense of judgement, fear and stigma. Jordan challenged us with what it looks like to embrace and love others through the lense of our commonality - of human beings made in the image of God. What does it look like to truly "embrace the other?". First time watching? We’d love to hear from you! God's Agenda or Ours?

God's Agenda or Ours? - Jordan Baker Forest City Church February 18, 2024 Kicking off our brand new series exploring the book of Jonah, Jordan examines the motivations and plans we may or may not even realize we hold onto so tightly even when following God. At the end of the day, what does it look like to follow a God whose direction for our lives may look different than our own preferences or plans? First time watching? We’d love to hear from you! Prayer as Intercession

Prayer as Intercession - Jordan baker Forest City Church January 28, 2024 As a faith community that feels a strong desire to support and lift up the world around us in prayer, it’s imperative that we examine Prayer as Intercession. Prayer as Petition

Prayer as Petition - Amy Baker Forest City Church January 21, 2024 As we continue on in our prayer series, this Sunday we looked at how we approach and ask God for the things we need in our life. Why do we even need to ask God? Shouldn’t He already know what we need? Why does He make us ask and then doesn’t answer them? What do we do then? We unpack all this and more! First time watching?
