Who Should Be Resistance Training
Resistance Training is for everyone! I’ve coached kids who were just starting gymnastics at around 18 months as well as various aged children through summer programs that educate them to learn about exercise + incorporate resistance training in a SAFE way. I’ve also worked with some awesome cool 80years+ humans who were trying to improve their overall quality of life. It is adaptive and quite literally for everyone. Your weights SHOULD be heavier than your backpack, diaper bag, bags of groceries, and so on. The goal of resistance training should be and CAN be to make life EASIER by lifting and that won’t happen with just 5-8lb dumbbells. 💪🏼Body weight movements can be a great place to BEGIN, but at some point you likely will need more.

Is it a consistency problem or expectation problem?
This is an extremely common mindset I see a LOT with clients in general, but it is extremely common with those that are ex-college athletes or individuals in transition to a new season of life (getting married, becoming parents, new job, etc). Adjusting your expectations allows the opportunity to be more consistent. You’re not broken and you’re not a loss cause, you just need a plan that compliments your current season of life and that’s my mission to help you achieve it! New Year Self Check-In
How are those New Years weight loss, muscle gain over wellness goals going? (BE HONEST, this is between YOU & YOU only) •Have you stayed committed to the routine you set in place for yourself? •Are you ENJOYING the plan you’ve been following? •Are you seeing/ feeling the results of your changing habits? •Do you see yourself continuing this for the remainder of the year, if yes, Does it excite you to do so? Take the time to really answer these questions honestly and dig deep into how you feel about your responses. A good rule of thumb I follow if it’s it’s not a “HELL YESS!” Feeling .. you likely aren’t going to continue this routine for a long enough time to TRULY see the results you’re after. Take the time to do this exercise. Remember, it’s okay if you need to pivot and reassess your goals and how your planning to get there.
