The knowledge of the glory of the Lord will fill the earth as the waters cover the sea. Scripture says, if I'm not mistaken, that the earth is filled with the glory of the Lord. But the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, one day the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. So there is my hope. There is my optimism. There is my faith to believe things can be better. And they will. They're going to get better. They will. Yeah. Well, God's promised it and he's going to perform it. That's right. And the resurrection of Jesus is the proof of it. Yes. It's giving assurance to all men. Yeah. That's what Paul told the heathen, pagans and atheists.

What God did in Christ, he did for all and he did completely, decisively, and emphatically, and it is ours. I was going to ask what all of Jesus got out of the tomb. Yeah, everything. All the old went in and only the new came out is one way of looking at that. It's a new life. Okay, another term in the New Testament is New Covenant, which Testament and new covenant is basically the same thing. Not technically, but basically it is. In the New Covenant, the old went away. There is a new way in which God is relating to us...

All the green trees are basking in its presence. Breeze is blowing through the woods. It's a blessed world. It is. It is. The sun rays of his love. How does that, that sun, how does it say, rise with righteousness in his wings or healing in his wings? The sun of righteousness shall arise with healing in his wings. What's that scripture? Romans 1, I think it talks about the righteousness of God is revealed. Uh-huh. From faith to faith. It's the righteousness of God. Yeah. That is revealed. That causes faith. That does what?

In this episode Larry and James talk about the life that is ours and available to all! From the transcript... Teaching us not to worry about tomorrow. Take no thought for tomorrow and just why don't you read that? Well, I have to look at it. 633, 32 somewhere over there. You're worth more than the bird. Aren't you worth more than the bird? That's about 29. Let's see. Let me just go 25. I think it is. Passion translation. This is why I tell you to never be worried about your life. For all that you need will be provided such as food, water, clothing, everything your body needs. Isn't there more to your life than a meal? Isn't your body more than clothing? Consider the birds. Do you think they worry about their existence? They don't plant or reap or store up food yet your Heavenly Father provides them each with food. Aren't you much more valuable to your father than they?

James and Larry take a cursory look at Psalm 103. From the transcript.... We had a cup of coffee. We had a broken bean and a big breakfast sandwich. Yes, that was good. It was good. It was good. They do a good job there, good ministry. Yep, the broken bean. God likes using broken beans. You don't have any other kind, I guess. Anyway, when we were there we were talking about God being our Father and I am convinced that that is the major revelation that Jesus gave us about God. That's our best picture. That's how he really is. The best way to understand him, relate to him, all that kind of stuff. There were some glimpses of that in the Old Testament, bits and pieces, but no, it wasn't a dominant theme until there. About him being a father. It's there, but it's a little bit veiled and like I said, kind of sporadic, not a lot of it. But you mentioned to me about Psalm 103 and thinking about it from a fatherly standpoint. If you'll let me read a little of it. He said, bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of his benefits. And then he gives us the benefits. Who pardons our iniquities, who heals all your diseases,

Learning Papa's Language EP40

James and Larry shares some of their experiences of growing up in church and what the learned and now are unlearning. From the transcript... Yeah, I think about all of what was placed around us, boxing us in, everything. You're born a sinner, child of the devil, total hereditary depravity. Here's the Bible, the inspired, inherent, infallible Word of God, rule of faith and practice, the exclusivity of that, with no or little minimal hearing from God, leading of the Spirit, or voice of the Spirit, voice of the Father. Even though gratefully it was salvation by grace through faith, but then you had to perform in order, you had to believe right and act right in order to get your eternal rewards, be in the bride of Christ, all that stuff. Penal substitutionary view of atonement, looking at everything through a legal lens.

James and Larry discuss the assurance that God has given to all people by raising Jesus from the dead! And it is GOOD NEWS!! From the transcript.... I wanted to read this out of Acts chapter 17 where Paul's preaching to those at Athens. I think it's, well it's interesting. I read it the other day. I was thinking about it. He said, you know, I can tell y'all are most religious. You know, y'all got this down because I see all these idols and then you got one that's to the "unknown God" whom you ignorantly worship. I think that's what it says. I thought, well now I thought you had to worship God in spirit and in truth. They're worshiping him in ignorance because I mean they acknowledged the unknown God. Just a side note. So Paul says he's the one I'm gonna declare unto you. And here's what it says in the passion translation.

Understanding Things Differently EP38

In this episode James and Larry talk about how they grew up understanding the Scripture and how they have come to interpret them differently. From the transcript... Even if as I matured and grew up there were things that I couldn't reconcile, things I saw in a different way or I read the scriptures different or I'm not quite sure they're right about that. I would always yield because you know I must be I must be wrong because this was the church where where I got saved. And a lot of that was everything from the nature of man and how at least I understood the concept of being born a sinner total hereditary concepts that was a starting spot in in their gospel; to the nature of God. Is he a holy king?

Resting In The Good News EP37

In this episode James and Larry talk about how they are finding that they can rest in the Good News of what God has done in Christ to not only secure the salvation of humanity but also enable life to be worth living! From the transcript..... God wants to rejoice with us. And our best human illustration or example of that is throwing a party. But he goes back to rejoice with me. God has a joy and he's sharing that joy with us. Didn't Jesus say something about that when in John 15, my joy I give to you. And it was the joy he and the father and the spirit enjoyed. It's a shared emotion as they rejoice over one another. It's more of that in your face stuff. Yeah. Because that's where Pross comes in. In the beginning was the word and the word was with God. Pross was with God before. It talks about, what's the word, towards. Towards. Yeah. But it has an idea of face to face.
