For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”” Luke 6:38 CSB “for the king had ships of Tarshish at sea with Hiram’s fleet, and once every three years the ships of Tarshish would arrive bearing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks. ,” 1 Kings 10:22 CSB 2. See, you have what is yours.’ “His master replied to him, ‘You evil, lazy servant! Make It Count - Ecclesiastes 9:1–17
Make It Count Ecclesiastes 9:1–17 Dr. Bob McCartney, Senior Pastor • April 12, 2026 -- For more information about First Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, visit our website at fbcwf.org. To give, click here. -- 1. YOU’RE GOING TO DIE — SO LIVE Intentionally. For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: 2 a time to be born, and a time to die; Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 ESV And just as it is appointed for people to die once—and after this, judgment Hebrews 9:27 CSB 2. ENJOY THE LIFE GOD GAVE YOU — DON’T WAIT FOR LATER 3. LOVE THE PEOPLE GOD GAVE YOU — BUILD A GODLY MARRIAGE Biblical Theology of Marriage Singleness is not sin. I wish that all people were as I am. But each has his own gift from God, one person has this gift, another has that. I say to the unmarried and to widows: It is good for them if they remain as I am. But if they do not have self-control, they should marry, since it is better to marry than to burn with desire. 1 Corinthians 7:7–9 (CSB) The man gave names to all the livestock, to the birds of the sky, and to every wild animal; but for the man no helper was found corresponding to him. So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to come over the man, and he slept. God took one of his ribs and closed the flesh at that place. Then the LORD God made the rib he had taken from the man into a woman and brought her to the man. And the man said: This one, at last, is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh; this one will be called “woman,” for she was taken from man. This is why a man leaves his father and mother and bonds with his wife, and they become one flesh. Genesis 2:20–24 (CSB) Some Pharisees approached him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife on any grounds? “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that he who created them in the beginning made them male and female,, and he also said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?, So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Matthew 19:3–6 (CSB) 4. DO WHAT MATTERS MOST — GIVE YOUR LIFE TO WHAT COUNTS Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people, knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23–24 (CSB) 5. TRUST GOD WITH WHAT YOU CAN’T CONTROL

I Need Godly Wisdom to Deal With Other People Let everyone submit to the governing authorities, since there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are instituted by God. So then, the one who resists the authority is opposing God’s command, and those who oppose it will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Do you want to be unafraid of the one in authority? Do what is good, and you will have its approval. Romans 13:1–3 (CSB) Be not hasty to go from his presence. Do not take your stand in an evil cause, for he does whatever he pleases. Ecclesiastes 8:3 (ESV) 3. I Need Godly Wisdom to Deal With What I Cannot Change Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” James 4:13–15 (ESV) Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began. Psalm 139:16 (CSB)
It’s Complicated - Ecclesiastes 7:15-29
It’s Complicated Ecclesiastes 7:15-29 Dr. Bob McCartney, Senior Pastor • March 22, 2026 -- For more information about First Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, visit our website at fbcwf.org. To give, click here. -- 1. It’s complicated; life doesn’t always make sense. For I was envious of the arrogant As I saw the prosperity of the wicked. Psalm 73:3 (NASB95) “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.” Matthew 6:33 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10 (CSB) 2. It’s complicated; so be self-aware. as it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one. Romans 3:10 (CSB) The righteousness of God is through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe, since there is no distinction. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; Romans 3:22–23 (CSB) 3. It’s complicated; so we need God’s wisdom. For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but it is the power of God to us who are being saved. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will set aside the intelligence of the intelligent. Where is the one who is wise? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the debater of this age? Hasn’t God made the world’s wisdom foolish? 1 Corinthians 1:18–20 (CSB)
