Are You Hearing—or Doing? | Putting the Word of God into Practice at Home

Knowing what the Bible says and putting it into practice are two different things. What happens when the sermon is over and we’re back home dealing with disagreements, frustration, and the temptation to say something we shouldn’t? In Episode 7 of Faith Without Works, we dig into James 1 and the challenge to become doers of the Word—not hearers only. We look at receiving God’s Word with meekness, being swift to hear and slow to speak, and allowing Scripture to change how we respond to the people closest to us. This is an honest look at living out our faith in our marriages, raising our children, and handling everyday conflict. I’m teaching through things I’m still having to put into practice myself. “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” — James 1:22, KJV This week’s challenge: Identify one area where you know what God’s Word says, and take a specific step to obey it. Faith isn’t just a suit on a Sunday. Hosted by Brandon Wilemon | Faith Without Works

Are You Weary From the Battle? | Don't Quit in the Middle

Are you weary from the battle you're fighting? Maybe you've been praying, working, raising your family, fighting temptation, trying to lead your home, and doing your best to remain faithful—but somewhere along the way, you got tired. In Episode 6 of Faith Without Works, we're opening the Bible to look at what happens when the work isn't finished, but the worker is weary. Nehemiah's burden-bearers were tired, but there was still a wall to build. Moses' hands became heavy, and Aaron and Hur stood beside him and held them up. Elijah reached the point where he said, "It is enough," yet God provided what he needed for the journey ahead. And Paul reminds us in Galatians 6:9: "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Sometimes you need somebody to help hold your arms up. Sometimes you need to rest and be strengthened for the journey. Sometimes you need to remember the Lord, remember what you're fighting for, and keep building. Being tired doesn't mean you're finished. Heavy arms don't mean you've lost the battle. Resting isn't surrendering. And sweating doesn't mean the work is over. Brother, don't quit in the middle. SCRIPTURE REFERENCES (KJV) Nehemiah 4:10–18 Nehemiah 6:1–4 Exodus 17:8–13 1 Kings 18–19 Galatians 6:7–10 Faith Without Works is about a faith that isn't merely something we talk about on Sunday in a suit. It's something we're called to live out every day—in our homes, our marriages, raising our children, on the job, and everywhere in between. Because if we say we believe it, eventually our lives ought to show it. Hosted by Brandon Wilemon — the Passive Pay Dad and Founder of FaithWithoutWorksOnline. Faith isn't just a suit on a Sunday.

How Do We Fight? | Put On the Whole Armour of God

David could not defeat Goliath while wearing Saul’s armor. He had to fight with what God had prepared him to use. In Episode 5 of Faith Without Works, Brandon examines David’s refusal of Saul’s armor alongside Paul’s command to put on the whole armour of God. The battle is spiritual, the enemy is real, and we cannot win by trusting in somebody else’s strength, experience, or equipment. God has not called us into battle empty-handed. He has given us truth, righteousness, the preparation of the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, His Word, and prayer. The question is not whether the armor is available. The question is whether we are putting it on. Faith isn’t just a suit on a Sunday. It must be lived when the battle comes. Primary Scripture: Ephesians 6:10–18 KJV Additional Scriptures: 1 Samuel 17:37–40, 45, 47–49 Joshua 6:2–3 Judges 7 1 Kings 18:36–37 2 Chronicles 20:12, 17 Watch the video edition on YouTube: https://youtu.be/dIC9_wPOP5k Learn more about Faith Without Works: https://faithwithoutworksonline.com

Episode 4: Know What You’re Fighting

Faith is not a suit we put on Sunday morning. It’s something we’re called to live out every day. In Episode 4 of Faith Without Works, we take a hard look at the battle every Christian faces—and why understanding who and what we’re actually fighting matters. The battle is real, but Scripture makes something else clear: we are not fighting alone. We’ll walk through Ephesians 6, 2 Corinthians 10, Romans 8, and 1 John 4 as we look at the enemy, the spiritual nature of the warfare, the strongholds that can develop in our minds, and the God who remains for His people in the middle of the fight. Know what you’re fighting. Know the enemy. And know Who’s on your side. Because if we say we believe it, eventually our lives ought to show it. This is Faith Without Works. With the Choice Comes the Battle | The Flesh vs. the Spirit

In Episode 2, we talked about the choice. “Choose you this day whom ye will serve...” — Joshua 24:15 But making the choice to follow Christ doesn't mean the battle is over. In many ways, that's when the battle becomes real. In Episode 3 of Faith Without Works, we look at the battle between the flesh and the Spirit—the struggle every believer knows when the desire to follow God collides with the pull of the flesh. Galatians 5:16–17 shows us that the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. Paul describes that same struggle in Romans 7: he desires to do what is right and delights in the law of God, yet finds another law warring within him. That struggle doesn't mean your faith isn't real. It means there's a battle. The choice has been made. Now we have to understand the fight that comes with it. Faith isn't merely something we talk about on Sunday in a suit. It's something we're called to live out every day—in our homes, our marriages, raising our children, on the job, and everywhere in between. Because if we say we believe it, eventually our lives ought to show it. This is Faith Without Works. Hosted by Brandon Wilemon FaithWithoutWorksOnline.com

Choose You This Day

Faith has to move. Faith has to produce something. Faith has to work. But if faith has to work, what is the first work? A choice. In Episode 2 of Faith Without Works, we go to Joshua 24 and the challenge Joshua put before the children of Israel: “Choose you this day whom ye will serve…” Before faith shows up in our homes, our marriages, our work, or anywhere else in our lives, there has to be a decision about who we are going to serve. You cannot live out a faith you have never chosen to stand on. Primary Scripture: Joshua 24:14–15 Supporting Scripture: James 2:14–20 Faith isn’t merely something we talk about on Sunday in a suit. It’s something we’re called to live out every day—in our homes, our marriages, raising our children, on the job, and everywhere in between. Because if we say we believe it, eventually our lives ought to show it. This is Faith Without Works.

The Call I Couldn't Outrun | Why Faith Without Works Exists

There comes a point when a man has to decide whether he is going to keep explaining why he cannot obey God—or get up and do the next thing God put in front of him. Episode 1 of Faith Without Works is where this journey begins. I'm not sitting behind this microphone because I have mastered faith. I'm here because God has dealt with my heart about the difference between simply saying we believe something and actually living like we believe it. James 2:17 says: “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” Faith has to move. Faith has to produce something. Faith has to work. This podcast is for the average, hardworking man trying to follow Jesus Christ, lead his family, work with excellence, and become the faithful husband, father, and leader God has called him to be. We're going to talk about what Scripture looks like when it meets real life—in our homes, our marriages, raising our children, on the job, in our failures, in our victories, and in the everyday process of growing in Christ. I don't have it all figured out. But I know I can't keep running from what God has put in front of me. This is the call I couldn't outrun. This is Faith Without Works.
