In 2014, during the run-up to the Scottish independence referendum, a man called Gerry Cinnamon posted a song called Hope Over Fear on social media. Lesley heard it, thought it could be an anthem, and then lost track of him entirely. Six years later, during the Covid lockdown, Canter appeared on a random Spotify playlist.
