This week, Tomiris Askarova interviews Alex Anthes, a non-traditional printmaker and mixed-media artist based in Erie. Her work explores ideas like grief, memory, and celebration, often using everyday materials like confetti and party decorations to express these themes. Alex is the Education Manager at the Erie Art Museum, where she works closely with the community to create meaningful art experiences and programs.

Alex earned an MFA in Studio Art with a focus on Print Media and Photography from Kent State University. Her work includes public art installations in Erie and Cleveland, meaning her work not only contributes to Erie's visual culture, but also helps bring people together through art and education.
