Kingdom of Israel Divided | 1 Kings 11–12
This Wednesday Night Bible Study takes us into 1 Kings 11–12, one of the major turning points in Israel’s history.
Solomon had been blessed with wisdom, wealth, and influence, but his heart began to turn away from God. His marriages to pagan women led him into idolatry, and his disobedience brought serious consequences. God declared that after Solomon’s reign, the kingdom would be divided.
In Chapter 12, that division becomes reality. Solomon’s son Rehoboam rejects wise counsel and responds harshly to the people. As a result, ten northern tribes rebel under Jeroboam, forming the Northern Kingdom of Israel, while Judah remains in the south.
These chapters remind us that our decisions have consequences, leadership matters, and faithfulness to God cannot be replaced by success, influence, or position. Israel’s divided kingdom didn’t begin with a political problem—it began with hearts that had turned away from God.
Join us as we study The Kingdom of Israel Divided and discover what this pivotal moment in Israel’s history can teach us about obedience, leadership, covenant faithfulness, and keeping our hearts fully devoted to God.
