FROM DARKNESS INTO LIGHT — What Makes Art Human?
Notas del episodio
What makes a piece of art human? Is it the hand that painted it? The years of experience behind it? The intention, the imperfections, the story — or something of the artist that somehow remains in the work?
In this episode of Divine Design Podcast, I meet Norwegian artist and former teacher Alfred Vaagsvold for a conversation about art, light, darkness, hope — and what it means to create in the age of artificial intelligence.
Alfred takes us into his artistic world, where people move from darkness towards light and where gold becomes a symbol of something eternal — a light beyond the ordinary. We explore how paintings can carry stories without words, why art does not always need to be understood, and how one human being can leave a lasting imprint on another.
And then we turn towards AI. When machines can create extraordinary images in seconds, imitate artistic styles and increasingly blur the boundary between what was made by a human and what was generated by technology, new questions emerge:
Who created this?
Where did it come from?
And what makes art truly human?
