Ahead of big changes to the Magic Kingdom, Thunder Mountain is closing for refurbishment on January 6, 2025, and will remain closed until 2026. Disney will make changes to the beloved ride and start work on its expansion of the new Villains Land and Cars Land at Frontierland.
