Tensions at Namib Mills intensified this week after a union leader allegedly assaulted a man linked to a third-party contractor during an ongoing lockout. This comes amid claims that the company is indirectly using replacement labour.

Speaking to Desert FM, Namibian Revolutionary Transport and Manufacturing Union leader Petersen Kambinda addressed the incident and the wider dispute, as Namib Mills denies wrongdoing and insists the workers involved belong to its sister company, Feedmaster.
