Even one's intention in doing Mitzvos, while not tangible (as the deed of Mitzvah, thus seemingly lacking the benefit of practical performance) can elicit supernal light- for this too is G-d's will (that one performs with intention). Hence, it too shares the power of will and that which it elicits Above. And, in sense has an advantage.
