Temporada 1
App-y Daze is Here Again & This Watering Can Not Carry On
App-y Daze is Here Again deals with the modern frustration of apps that continually update themselves, and how mum nearly caused me to crash even though she wasn't in the car at the time. This Watering Can Not Carry On is a gardener's plea for rain and a warning not to touch the red watering can. Every day I write something in a daily blog www.threeflats.wordpress.com and every week I choose the best two for this podcast. Do go back and listen. Episode 2 in particular seems very popular. I also wrote and recorded the music which, given the icon of piano keys, probably won't surprise you. Boo. That probably didn't either.
Doggy Tales (RIP m'dog) & Sensitive Censoring
Doggy Tales is the post I wrote the day after my beloved dog was put down and is a collection of memories about her. Sensitive Censoring reveals the efforts behind me producing a simple BLEEP noise to censor a not very rude word in last week's episode. Both come from my daily blog at www.threeflatswordpress.com which has been running since January 2018. Yes, I know. I should get a life. I wrote all the words and also all the music. I also played it too. Go me. If you like this, there are 26 previous episodes of similar content and probably at least 26 more...
Bl**dy Butterflies & Blind Teasing the Blind
Bl**dy Butteflies explains that whilst Dolly Parton might love these particular winged insects, as I gardener, I'm not as big a fan. Blind Teasing the Blind deconstructs a joke before offering a short update on my current window covering of choice. The asterisks may be overkill but you'll love how I deal with them in the second story. Both of these come from my daily blog at www.threeflats.wordpress.com of which this podcast acts as a Best Of compilation. I would say like and subscribe but I don't know how to do that myself. I wrote and performed the music too #justsayin'
Happy Birthday Mum! & Happy Half Birthday Me!
This week's "best of" episodes are celebrations of birthdays. Happy Birthday Mum! celebrates, unsurprisingly, mum's birthday and the small family gathering that prompted. Happy Half Birthday Me! is the immediate sequel coming the very next day and continues the story of champagne, Jaffa cakes, and dark accusations. Both are from my daily blog at www.threeflats.wordpress.com where you can read about these two birthdays every year since 2018 should you be so inclined. Yes - it's been going that long. The music was written and performed by me.
Ghosts of Music Past & Expecting a Coda but Getting a Repeat
Today's podcast features two connected posts about my trip to a big schools' concert in the city where I used to live and work and from where I fled eight years ago after it all went wrong. Ghosts of Music Past was written during the rehearsals when I was reflecting on the journey - literal and metaphorical - that led to where I was. Expecting a Code but Getting a Repeat was written the day after the concert expressing my relief that all went well and wondering about what the future may hold. Both are more personal than my usual ramblings but, as ever, come from my daily blog at www.threeflats.wordpress.com I record the best two posts every week as this "best of" podcast so do subscribe if you like what you hear and tell your friends and all that sort of thing. And given how much talk there is about song writing, it shouldn't be a surprise to say that I wrote the music for this podcast too.
Closed for Refurbeeshment & Bankety Bank
Closed for Refurbeeshment explains why the bees in the garden currently have nowhere to sleep. Bankety Bank explains why choosing a new bank account is even worse than choosing a new energy tariff. Both pieces come from my daily blog at www.threeflats.wordpress.com which really is a daily blog and has been going since January 2018. So I wouldn't start reading from the beginning if I were you. I also wrote and performed the music. It's inspired by one of my sons. True Story.
Weekly Tales: Heated Moments from the Office & Let Sleeping Bloggers Lie
Heated Moments from the Office explains why my brain lets me down in hot weather but not for the reasons you might expect. Let Sleeping Bloggers Lie explains why I spent a fortnight in considerable danger during each and every night. Both are taken from my daily blog at www.threeflats.wordpress.com where you can read the other five entries from this week. I wrote and performed the music too. True story.
Weekly Tales: Just Answer The Question - Please!!! & Pub Fight (or Flight)
Just Answer the Question - Please!!! is a rant about certain people's inability to answer a simple question with a simple answer naming and shaming at least one company. Pub Fight (or Flight) describes an unexpected attack I faced when trying to enjoy a glass of wine at a local hostelry - but not from the usual suspects... Both are taken from my stupidly long running daily blog www.threeflats.wordpress.com where you can read more of the same. Humble Brag - I wrote and performed the music too...
Passing a Screen Test & Running Circles Around Retail Hell - this week's best stories
Passing a Screen Test recounts my epic efforts to help fix a monitor with a quick sidebar about the world's worst Bond movie. Running Circles Around Retail Hell is further evidence why my hatred of shopping is perfectly reasonable. Both are from my diary blog at www.threeflats.wordpress.com where you can read more of this sort of thing. The music was composed and performed by me too.
The Green Chequered Flag & Cage Flight - stories from this week
The Green Chequered Flag explains why I was able to provide my own hold music when renewing my breakdown cover. Cage Flight describes my battle to stop the wind wrecking my broccoli. Both are taken from my daily blog at www.threeflats.wordpress.com I wrote all the words and all the music you will hear, are hearing, or hopefully will hear...
