035 - MadWorld+ Anarchy Reigns w/Skeleton

Join our Discord: discord.gg/QMgzjKjmTT This week we are joined by Deep Hell Skeleton to talk about MadWorld and Anarchy Reigns (Max Anarchy in Japan.) Two of Platinum's lesser known games. The first being a very violent Wii exclusive gave it some noteriety but the follow up sort of got lost in the shuffle. Both are enjoyable games and both have fantastic soundtracks mostly based on rap vocals but the tracks themselves span a lot of genres giving it a sort of mashup vibe. You may note that we have a little mini block, these tracks I couldn't source before we recorded the episode but I was able to subsequently find them as they aren't on the official soundtracks so forgive that they were shoehorned in a little. Deep Hell: https://deep-hell.com/ 00:00:00 Naoto Tanaka; Ox - Get It Up (MADWORLD Official Soundtrack) 00:02:47 Talk 1 00:13:35 Naoto Tanaka; Optimus - Mad World (MADWORLD Official Soundtrack) judgement night ost 00:15:55 Naoto Tanaka; S.o.u.l. 032 - Furi w/Ash

We're joined by Ash this week to get our synthwave on and talk about Furi. Featuring a bunch of original tracks by some great Synthwave Stalwarts and a really dope art style this game was of immediate interest to me when it came out and when Ash mentioned they wanted to talk about it I couldn't wait to get this episode done. 00:00:00 Carpenter Brut - Time to wake up 00:01:08 Talk 01 00:07:12 Carpenter Brut - What we fight for 00:13:53 Carpenter Brut - Enraged 00:18:50 Carpenter Brut - You're mine 00:25:07 Talk 02 00:43:40 Waveshaper - Wisdom of rage 00:48:45 The Toxic Avenger - Make this right 00:54:34 Waveshaper - A picture in motion 00:57:56 Talk 03 01:11:12 Kn1ght - Something memorable 01:17:08 Waveshaper - A monster 01:21:28 Scattle - Love and madness 01:24:58 Talk 04 01:39:47 Danger - Danger 6:24 01:44:08 Danger - Danger 7:53 01:46:45 Danger - Danger 8:02 01:51:13 Talk 05 02:07:23 Waveshaper - You are the end

031 - Shmup Stage 1 w/Justus

We're back with another theme episode! It's Stage 1 music from Shmups, STGs, Bullet hell, whatever you want to call it. I got the idea for the playlist when doing the Hitoshi Sakimoto episode because I have a ton of these games that I wanted to talk about and while some of them will definitely get full episodes in future, and there's plenty of games not on this list I can talk about, it seemed ilke a fun excuse to nerd out about some classics as well as a few deeper cuts. Justus was kind enough to join us and provide some expertise on the genre, as well some really interesting chats about FM Synthesis. 00:00:00 Manabu Namiki - Burning Halloween Town: Stage A-1 (deathsmiles original sound track) 00:03:42 Talk 01 00:16:56 Manabu Namiki - Ran (Stage1) (DODONPACHI SAIDAIOUJOU / DODONPACHI MAXIMUM ORIGINAL SOUND TRACK) 00:20:22 Manabu Namiki - Mutiny - Fate is with the Girl (Stage1) (ESPGALUDA II Original Sound Track) 00:24:34 Manabu Namiki - Setting Off Together (Stage 1) (Mushihimesama Futari Original Sound Track) 00:27:42 Manabu Namiki - To Shinju Forest - Stage1 (Mushihimesama Original Sound Track) 00:31:30 Talk 02 00:44:35 Manabu Namiki; Jake Kaufman - INTERCEPTION - Town in Upheaval (Stage1) (DO-DON-PACHI DAI-FUKKATSU BLACK LABEL Arrange Mode Album) 00:47:49 Takeshi Miyamoto - The Timid yet Noble Warrior (Stage A-1) (DEATHSMILES for iPhone/iPod Touch ORIGINAL SOUND TRACK) 00:50:37 Manabu Namiki - Fly to the Leaden Sky [STAGE1- VALLEY] (Battle Garegga) 00:52:05 Takuya Hanaoka; Shigenori Masuko - Stage 1 (AirGrave) 00:55:05 Talk 03 01:06:50 Manabu Namiki - Easy To Go [Stage 1 BGM ／ Manhattan City] (Armed Police Batrider Remaster) 01:08:43 Atsuhiro Motoyama - Sorcer Striker (Round 1) (Mahou Daisakusen Original Soundtrack) 01:11:51 Atsuhiro Motoyama - Scramble! 030 - Paradise Killer

This week we finally talk about the Paradise Killer OST. Far and away one of the best soundtracks of the last few years for one of my favourite games of the last few years. Reese recently played it so as soon as she told me she was playing I said we had to do an episode as soon as possible so here it is! Apologies for the audio errors in the first two segments, the discord call was giving us some issues, we got it sorted in the end thankfully. 00:00:00 Barry "Epoch" Topping - Paradise (Stay Forever) 00:04:30 Talk 01 00:16:31 Barry "Epoch" Topping - GO!GO!STYLE 00:19:58 Barry "Epoch" Topping - The Lemegeton Bop 00:22:27 Barry "Epoch" Topping - Knife & Crystal 00:25:10 Barry "Epoch" Topping - House of Bliss 00:28:42 Talk 02 00:41:26 Barry "Epoch" Topping - Midori Eyes 00:45:08 Barry "Epoch" Topping - 8th Street Rose 00:48:28 Barry "Epoch" Topping - Breeze With U 00:53:31 Barry "Epoch" Topping - Headlights On The Shore 00:57:38 Talk 03 01:05:38 Barry "Epoch" Topping - Sunset Song 01:08:52 Barry "Epoch" Topping - The Sarcophagus 01:13:15 Barry "Epoch" Topping - Temple of Tears 01:17:28 Talk 04 01:31:58 Barry "Epoch" Topping - Unlimited∞Luv 01:36:23 Barry "Epoch" Topping - Misunderstand 01:40:08 Barry "Epoch" Topping - To The Heart [Vocal Version] 01:44:15 Barry "Epoch" Topping - About That... 01:48:53 Talk 05 02:00:05 Barry "Epoch" Topping - Lady Blue [MEEBEE & Okumura. 029 - Sonic Redux w/Roar

This week is our 1 year anniversary episode! Last year I put together of assorted Sonic tracks as a test for the podcast before we recorded our first real episode. The recording itself didn't turn out great but I thought it would be fun to dig out the playlist and have a redux episode. Roar who previously joined us for Sonic CD Temporal Duality brought some of her Sonic expertise and we have a fun chat. 00:00:00 Hideki Naganuma - Right There, Ride On 00:02:35 Talk 01 00:10:13 Hideki Naganuma - Back 2 Back 00:12:58 Hideki Naganuma - Jeh Jeh Rocket 00:15:48 Hideki Naganuma - Vela-Nova 00:17:56 Hideki Naganuma - Vela-Nova (Part 2) 00:18:32 Hideki Naganuma - Bomber Barbara 00:20:41 Hideki Naganuma - Wrapped in Black 00:23:37 Talk 02 00:37:36 Crush 40 - I Am... 028 - 13 Sentinels w/Nate

This week, my friend Nate brings us a baker's dozen of Sentinels and their attendant soundtrack full of synth bangers. The game itself is very neat but the soundtrack is one of the best of the last few years and I've been hyped to do this one for a while. 00:00:00 Hitoshi Sakimoto; Bratphonics - Brat Overflow 00:01:53 Talk 1 00:12:53 Yoshimi Kudo - (VALINE)- 00:19:23 Yoshimi Kudo - -(ISOLEUCINE)- 00:24:51 Mitsuhiro Kaneda - -(PHENYLALANINE)- 00:31:20 Yukinori Kikuchi - -(METHIONINE)- 00:36:41 Talk 2 00:52:37 Azusa Chiba - Bright Days Ahead 00:56:41 Rikako Watanabe - In the Doldrums 01:01:53 Rikako Watanabe - Forty Winks 01:06:21 Rikako Watanabe - A Clause with Claws 01:09:19 Talk 3 01:18:32 Hitoshi Sakimoto - Voyage to Tomorrow 01:22:15 Mitsuhiro Kaneda - Hack and Crash 01:25:27 Yoshimi Kudo - To the Final Battle 01:29:08 Talk 4 01:39:10 Rikako Watanabe - -(TRYPTOPHAN)- 01:43:43 Yukinori Kikuchi - -(HISTIDINE)- 01:48:27 Yoshimi Kudo - -[DEOXYRIBOSE]- 01:55:25 Talk 5 02:06:12 Hitoshi Sakimoto - -{EDGE OF THE FUTURE} Nate's Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/styggly.bsky.social Nate's Twitter: https://twitter.com/styggly
