Notas del episodio
đŹ In the first episode of season of The Cre8 Podcast, we sit down with Phillip Karanja, popularly known as Phil Director â a celebrated Kenyan filmmaker, actor, and CEO of Phil-It Productions.
From a young age, Phil knew he wanted to be part of the film industry. With his motherâs support, he attended film school, where he met his best friend and business partner, Abel Mutua (Mkurugenzi). While still a student, Phil landed an acting role on the hit TV show Tahidi High, later becoming a director on the show and then directing another fan favourite, Mother In Law.
Philâs career soared as he directed more acclaimed shows and films, including 'Click Click Bang' â the first Kenyan film to be featured on Netflix! He went on to establish Phil-It Productions, learning first-hand the importance of balancing creativity with business acumen. This realisation inspired him to launch his podcast, Becoming CEO, where he interviews top CEOs in Kenya about leadership and entrepreneurship.
If youâre passionate about filmmaking, entrepreneurship, or Kenyan entertainment, this episode is packed with insights and inspiration!
