Millennial Policing: Officer Shauna Moller’s Outreach and Engagement Efforts
A graduate of George Mason University's Criminology Law and Society program and a former recipient of the Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service in Policing, Shauna Moller’s commitment to public safety with Manassas City Police has led her to enhance community engagement and awareness through initiatives such as Girls on the Run, domestic violence awareness, elder assistance, and other important social action programs.
This episode of The Beat features James Mackey, who began his policing career in law enforcement in 1995 and now currently works for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office with 30 years of experience. Deputy Mackey encourages officers to understand homelessness and regards the lack of training for law enforcement as a significant issue that often leads to ineffective responses to individual’s experiencing homelessness. Together, we’ll hear about the amazing experiences he encountered during his career and some of the life lessons he learned along the way.
