That dusting of snow overnight is already history. Fog hugged the ground early, but it's lifting fast. We're looking at a pleasant afternoon with sun punching through the clouds. Highs settle right where they should be — 45 degrees along the coast, 46 in central Connecticut. And 48 out east.
In the next 24 hours. Tonight is where the plot thickens. Temperatures take a nosedive after sunset. You'll drop to 27 at the shore, 25 inland. And 26 in eastern Connecticut. Patchy fog creeps back in after 10 P.M. Here's the catch — a slight chance of freezing rain mixes in toward dawn, especially in those valley spots where cold air likes to hide.
Thursday brings the real mess. Rain spreads statewide by mid-morning. It peaks around 1 P.M. Coastal Connecticut could see up to an inch. Central areas get a messy mix ...
