What happens when the same people cheering for you in the stadium don't want people like you in their country—or in positions of political power?
That question sparks a heated conversation between DVJ and Michelle after watching the Brewers and seeing fans celebrate Latino baseball star Jackson Chourio.
The conversation goes beyond baseball.
DVJ and Michelle talk about the way Black and Latino athletes are celebrated when they're scoring touchdowns, hitting home runs, dunking basketballs, and winning championships—but question whether that same support exists when those same people step outside of sports and enter politics or other positions of influence.
They also get into immigration, stereotypes, race, racism, representation, and the difference between being welcomed for what you can do and being accepted for who you are.
Then the conversation takes another turn as they discuss corruption inside correctional facilities, including allegations involving a Miami-Dade corrections officer accused of helping bring drugs into a jail and facilitating inmate gambling, along with a separate case involving an attorney accused of attempting to smuggle contraband into an Ohio prison.
The episode also features a Lloyd Banks, Havoc & Alchemist music dump, Packers and Brewers talk, NBA conversations, Milwaukee life, and plenty of unfiltered opinions along the way.
Are athletes being celebrated—or simply valued for what they can provide?
That's the question.
