RE-RELEASE - Shooting Practice, Booze Buses & Rookie Days - from the Academy to Police Life with Pat Cotter

With Christmas being one of the busiest and most demanding times of the year for the police force — we’re revisiting our chat with 22-year-old rookie cop Patty Cotter.

In this episode, Patty opens up about his journey from a failed attempt at joining the army to finding his calling in the police force. He breaks down the gruelling academy training, the nerves of putting on the uniform for the first time, and the reality shock of stepping onto the beat as a young recruit.

From long nights working booze buses, dealing with the public at their best and worst, and learning fast on the job, Patty gives a raw and honest look at the highs, lows, and lessons of policing in the early days of his career — especially relevant as officers gear up for the Christmas chaos.

And as a bonus sidebar, we also uncover the mysterious “magic treatments” living in his footy bag.

Perfect timing to revisit as police everywhere brace for the festive season.
