Jesus is Coming: Behold Your God - Jim Howard

Camp Meeting 2026 kicked off on the night of June 16 at Highland View Academy with AWR president James Howard's message "Jesus is Coming: Behold Your God," tracing his own conversion story and the truth that God's mercy and justice have never been at odds. Howard shared how that message is bearing fruit halfway around the world, including an Ugandan radio station owner whose own broadcasts led him to baptism.

Jesus is Coming: Wage War - Jim Howard

The greatest battle a Christian will ever fight is not against an external enemy but against themselves. Revelation 12 describes a war that began in heaven, and it reveals two very different ways of fighting: the way of Michael, and the way of the accuser. Those who are truly yielded to the Holy Spirit make war with themselves, while those who cling to sin redirect that energy outward, finding fault and accusing others. The story of Cain and Abel illustrates two classes of people that will exist until the end of time. Cain came to God on his own merits, with no genuine sense of need, while Abel came by faith, recognizing his need for a Savior. The question for every Christian is not whether we obey God, but why we obey Him. A sense of genuine need before God is the very first condition of acceptance with Him, and the closer we draw to Jesus, the more clearly we see ourselves and the deeper that need becomes.

Jesus is Coming: Love People - Jim Howard

The mission of the church is not built on programs or events. It is built on people. Every follower of Jesus is personally called to come close to individuals, open the Scriptures with them, and walk with them toward discipleship. Jesus Himself modeled this through personal encounters with people like Nathanael, the Samaritan woman, Thomas, and Peter. Each of those moments combined intimate knowledge with complete love, and that combination brought transformation. Large evangelistic campaigns matter, but they are most effective when grounded in personal, one-on-one effort. The harvest is plentiful, and what is needed most is not more programs but more laborers willing to reach people one soul at a time.

Jesus is Coming: Love the Truth - Jim Howard

There is a difference between knowing the truth and loving the truth. Second Thessalonians 2 warns that those who perish do so not because truth was unavailable, but because they did not receive a love for it. For Seventh-day Adventists, the prophetic message rooted in Daniel and Revelation is not simply a set of doctrines. It is a God-given mission with a specific purpose in history. The 2,300-day prophecy of Daniel 8, the Great Disappointment of 1844, and the three angels' messages of Revelation 14 all point to a people called to restore truth and prepare the world for the return of Jesus. Stories like a 14-year-old Hutterite boy who began keeping the Sabbath after hearing the Bible on a small audio device, and a non-denominational pastor who walked away from his ministry after encountering the call to come out of Babylon, illustrate what happens when truth lands in a hungry heart. The question is not whether we hold the truth intellectually. The question is whether we love it enough to live it and share it without apology.

Jesus is Coming: Tell the World - Jim Howard

Jesus is coming, and every believer is called to do something about it. The Great Commission is not reserved for pastors or evangelists. It belongs to every Christian. Making disciples means more than living a good life. It means speaking, teaching, and intentionally investing in people. You do not need to know everything before you start. Share what you know, and God will do the rest. The more you share your faith, the more your own faith grows. Start with one person, start this week.
