The year 13 B.C., while seemingly ordinary to its inhabitants, was, in fact, a pivotal period of divine preparation for the Incarnation of Christ. Across the vast Roman Empire, systems of governance, culture, and infrastructure were unknowingly being perfected to facilitate the spread of the Gospel, from established roads and common languages to the widespread spiritual yearning that philosophies and mystery religions could not satisfy. In Judea, despite the outward grandeur of Herod's Temple, a deep spiritual hunger for the Messiah persisted among a people waiting for God to speak and act again, even as the ordinary lives of Joseph and Mary quietly unfolded, poised to bear the infinite within the temporal.
