Hank Schrader beats Jesse Pinkman unconscious outside his home, a consequence of the RV humiliation from the previous episode. Jesse responds by threatening litigation, continued cooking, and using Walt as a DEA bargaining chip if caught. Walt engineers Jesse's return to the superlab by manufacturing a false dispute with his current partner Gale, while Hank — unraveling since the Tuco shooting — tells Marie he is finished as a cop and surrenders his badge during a suspension hearing. That same afternoon, unarmed in a mall parking lot, Hank receives an anonymous one-minute warning and survives an ambush by the Salamanca cousins only by loading a hollow-point bullet Marco dropped mid-fight and killing him with a headshot. He collapses from blood loss as the episode ends.
