Week 3 of the college football season is here, and Blue Collar Sports is breaking down a loaded slate of games! We’re giving our predictions, looking at the spreads, highlighting the players to watch, and diving into the biggest storylines heading into the weekend.
We kick things off with a Friday night ranked matchup between #22 Houston and #13 Texas Tech, with the Red Raiders entering as 7.5-point favorites. Both teams already have a common opponent in Oregon State, giving us plenty to compare before Connor Weigman and Houston take on Will Hammond and Texas Tech.
From there, we break down Arizona State vs. Kansas, including Cutter Boley’s hot start and why Dylan Edwards could be a sneaky difference-maker. We also preview North Carolina vs. Clemson, NC State vs. Vanderbilt and the beginning of the Jared Curtis era, plus #9 Texas A&M vs. Kentucky and #10 Alabama vs. Florida State.
The ranked matchups continue with #16 SMU vs. #23 Louisville, where Kevin Jennings and Lincoln Kienholz headline what could turn into one of the most entertaining offensive battles of the week. We also give our picks for Mississippi State vs. South Carolina, Florida vs. Auburn, #25 Virginia vs. West Virginia, and Colorado vs. Northwestern. We’ll discuss some of the biggest players and storylines in each matchup, including Aaron Philo, Jadan Baugh, Michael Hawkins Jr., Julian Lewis, Kamario Taylor, and Florida’s new offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner.
Finally, we finish with the BCS GAME OF THE WEEK: #7 LSU vs. #8 Ole Miss! LSU enters as a 3-point favorite as Sam Leavitt and the Tigers go head-to-head with Trinidad Chambliss and the Rebels in a Top-10 showdown. We break down both offenses, the players who could decide the game, and give our predictions for one of the biggest matchups of Week 3.
