What Motivates Service To God?

Bible Reading: Psalm 130 & Luke 7:36-50

Text Verses: Luke 7:36-50

“All man-made religions are based on the assumption that to have

acceptance from God we must earn his favour. This means,

whether you’re religious or 'the average man in the street', you

assume any sort of interaction with God is transactional - you try

your best and hope God is satisfied.

The Bible’s message is “back to front” to religion. In this passage,

a woman finds forgiveness and acceptance from God through

Jesus and responds with acts of thankful love. Through Jesus, our

approach to God is relational, not transactional.
