As a lifetime cyclist and longtime RAGBRAI rider, Matt Phippen was named RAGBRAI Director in January 2022. He's had a year to prepare for a milestone year - the 50th RAGBRAI ride! Started in 1973 by two Des Moines Register reporters; Donald Kaul and John Karras, RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) has become the biggest, longest-running bike ride in the world.
