Episode 17: Summer Wrap-Up

As summer comes to a close, Ms. Arzt and Mr. Pina take a look ahead to the start of another school year in Tabernacle. In this episode, we answer a question from our community about emotional spaces in the classroom and discuss how schools can create environments where students feel comfortable, supported, and ready to learn. We also wrap up our Summer Book Club and explore an important question: How can we bring more WONDER into our schools and our everyday conversations with students? Finally, we share important back-to-school information, including the release of student schedules, Meet the Teacher, and Back to School Night. Episode 16: Community Questions & Book Club Reflections

In this episode of Beyond the Bell, Ms. Arzt and Mr. Pina answer a question submitted by a member of our community: What options do students have during indoor recess? They discuss how indoor recess is structured, the variety of activities available to students, and the intentional efforts made to ensure students are engaged beyond just screens or sitting quietly. Special Episode: Series - Common Threads (Mr. Joseph Sprague)

In this episode of Beyond the Bell: Common Threads, Mr. Pina and Ms. Arzt are joined by Mr. Joseph Sprague, Principal of Bordentown Regional Middle School, for a reflective conversation on leadership, school culture, and student growth. The discussion begins with one of Mr. Sprague’s favorite educational quotes and explores how mindset shapes decision-making at both the adult and student level. Together, the group examines the intentional work behind building a positive school culture and the ways schools can empower students to engage in meaningful self-reflection and make positive choices. This episode highlights shared challenges and common values across districts, offering insight into how educators across New Jersey are working to support students beyond academics. Common Threads episodes are designed to foster thoughtful dialogue, highlight leadership practices, and provide our community with a broader perspective on education across districts.

Episode 11: Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB): A Brief Description

In this special episode of Beyond the Bell, Ms. Arzt and Mr. Pina provide a brief overview of what Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB) looks like in schools and what the school community should understand about the process. The conversation focuses on how the State defines HIB, common characteristics of HIB situations, and a general outline of how schools respond when concerns are raised. This episode is intended to offer clarity and transparency around the inner workings of the HIB process. As a reminder, this is not an exhaustive explanation of every scenario or outcome. Instead, it serves as a high-level overview to help families better understand expectations, procedures, and the school’s role in supporting students. For specific questions or concerns, families are encouraged to contact their school directly.

Episode 10: Music, Momentum, and Mr. Lutz

In this episode, we look ahead at upcoming November events. Our guest, Mr. Lutz, joins us to share the exciting growth of the music department and shines a light on the collaborative efforts with his colleague, Ms. Czekay. He also discusses how students can get involved in music at Tabernacle and what makes the program so special.
