Mport: Wubs, Friendship, and Trusting the Weird Ideas

Mport (Marc Mount) joins Beyond the Bass for a conversation about friendship, creativity, and the process of becoming himself as an artist. He looks back on growing up in Colorado, banging on laundry baskets, learning piano, falling in love with heavy music, and becoming obsessed with how songs, sounds, and live shows are made.

From running visuals at Beta Nightclub to building the Mport project, getting support from artists like Dirt Monkey and Subtronics, and taking his own weird ideas seriously, he traces a path shaped by curiosity, humor, and persistence. He also opens up about comparison, validation, post-tour lows, and why the dream now is less about chasing the biggest stage and more about creating music, shows, and memories with the right people.
