Gary Owen grew up a farm kid with big ambition in the small town of New Hope, Texas. His entrepreneurial journey started alongside his father: farming, chopping wood, and working cows. He has always lived by a simple code: work hard and do what you say you'll do.

From there, Gary expanded his own farming operation and eventually got into cattle. While building his farm and ranch, he also built golf courses, installed septic systems, and earned a reputation for integrity and an unmatched work ethic. In time, he helped a man build a livestock sale that he later bought. He turned it into a thriving business and ran it for 25 years before selling.

During his sale barn years, Gary phased out most of his farming and doubled down on cattle, building a herd of 500 mama cows. Today he puts up hay, grows pecans, and runs his cows, but his favorite job these days is following his grandkids to all their activities.

This is a great conversation and living proof that hard work pays off.
