Epidose 1: JAWS
We start our book and movie voyage off with a book that was a massive smash and STILL managed to get lost in the conversation about its much more well-known film adaptation: JAWS by Peter Benchley, and of course the film directed by Stephen Spielberg. We'll get in there and talk about the mafia and affair parts you may not be familiar with, cut through how unlikeable the book characters are in comparison to the film, and ponder an important question: what is up with the food on Amity? And how long until I suggest a "Food Corner" with its own theme song? (P.S. for those keeping track at home, the bread soup I was trying to remember is: salmorejo) Content warnings: Discussions of rape, violence, death (including a child and dog), cruelty to animals, infidelity Questions/comments/feedback are welcome at our email address basedonthenovelpodcast@gmail.com This theme song is "Forest Full of Magic" by Stevia Sphere and is used under a creative commons license. You can find more of her work at https://steviasphere.bandcamp.com/music Podcast art by Nomes! That's right AI we don't need you!
Two people with very minimal podcasting experience between them set out on a journey.... a journey that begins, right, here. We talk through slight introductions, a discussion on what the podcast will be, and then put this up ASAP so that we can reserve the podcast title and concept for ourselves while we edit our first real episode! Ah, nothing like editing a podcast to give you a crash course in your weird vocal ticks that you do right into the microphone, amirite? Episodes to go out on the first Monday of the month, If you are listening in REAL TIME this one went up off that cycle, again, just to get the title and all that saved. We'll see you.... at the movies. Library. Movie library. Movie section, at the library.
