Uncanny Treks: X-Men Epic Collection Vol. 3 Pt. 1 (1968, Comic)

The X-Men quit. Bob and Matt wade into 'The Doomsmith Scenario' and the bleak aftermath of Professor X's death, as X-Men #46-54 find Marvel's mutants disbanded and directionless under a rotating creative cast — Roy Thomas, Arnold Drake, and Gary Friedrich writing, Don Heck and Werner Roth drawing. It's the awkward adolescence before the Neal Adams renaissance: Magneto schemes, the team splinters, nobody's having fun. Matt defends the gloom; Bob's counting down the issues until Adams arrives. Next stop: the good stuff.

Uncanny Treks: X-Men Epic Collection Vol. 2 (1966, Comic)

The Silver Age marches on. Bob and Matt continue through X-Men #24-45 (plus Avengers #53): the original five finding their footing, Magneto's relentless return, and the growing pains of Marvel's mutant book. They dig into the era's charms and quirks, debate which issues hold up, and track the slow build toward the Neal Adams revolution. The dream's getting complicated.

Uncanny Treks: X-Men Epic Collection Vol. 1 (1963, Comic)

Meet the original five. Bob and Matt go back to the very beginning with X-Men #1-23: Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's first mutant adventures, Magneto's debut as the arch-foe, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Juggernaut's rampage, and the Sentinels' first hunt. It's the foundation of everything X-Men — raw, strange, and endlessly fascinating. Matt's inner completist is thrilled. Professor X's dream starts here.

Uncanny Treks: Fantastic Four Epic Collection Vol. 5 (1967, Comic)

It's Doom's world — the FF just live in it. Bob and Matt close out this Epic run with Fantastic Four #68-87 (plus Annual #6): the Latverian monarch's biggest plays, the Mad Thinker's schemes, and Lee and Kirby's late-60s peak. They dig into what makes Doom the greatest villain in comics, savor the cosmic stakes, and argue about the era's wildest ideas. All hail Doom — again.

Uncanny Treks: Fantastic Four Epic Collection Vol. 4 (1966, Comic)

Wakanda forever — 1966 edition. Bob and Matt dig into Fantastic Four #52-67 (plus Annuals #4-5): the first appearance of the Black Panther, the Silver Surfer's ongoing saga, and Lee and Kirby firing on all cylinders. They celebrate T'Challa's landmark debut, debate the era's storytelling tics, and soak in the Kirby visuals. A historic volume, and the hosts know it.

Uncanny Treks: DC vs. All Elite Wrestling (2026, Comic)

Matt's two worlds collide. Bob and Matt dive into DC x AEW, the 2026 two-part crossover where the Justice League teams with Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland, Orange Cassidy, Willow Nightingale, and Kenny Omega to recover the shards of the Big Galactic Belt — pure Element X that can rewrite reality. Steve Orlando and Travis Mercer deliver wrestling-meets-superheroes chaos, and Matt (lifelong wrestling fan) is living his best life. Bob just wants to know who wins the tornado tag match. Body slams and superpowers!

Uncanny Treks: Fantastic Four Epic Collection Vol. 3 (1964, Comic)

The one with Galactus. Bob and Matt tackle Fantastic Four #33-51 (plus Annual #3): the coming of the Devourer of Worlds, the Silver Surfer's debut, and the most famous three issues Lee and Kirby ever made. They dig into the Inhumans' introduction, Doom's power plays, and why the Galactus trilogy still towers over everything. This is the Epic Collection at its peak — don't skip it.

Uncanny Treks: Ultimates 2 (2017, Comic)

Ewing goes for the ultimate ending. Bob and Matt close out the Ultimates saga with Ultimates 2 (#1-9 plus the #100 finale): the Eternity War, the Maker's endgame, and the First Firmament's last stand. They unpack the biggest ideas Ewing ever put on the page, debate whether the finale earns its cosmic scale, and say goodbye to the team that fixed the impossible. Ambitious to the last panel.

Uncanny Treks: The Avengers #1-8 (1963, Comic)

Back to the beginning — Earth's Mightiest, 1963 edition. Bob and Matt read the first eight issues of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's Avengers: Loki's scheme that assembles Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man, and Wasp; the Hulk's swift exit; Captain America's thaw in #4; and the debuts of the Masters of Evil and Kang the Conqueror. It's raw, weird, wonderful Silver Age Marvel, and the hosts are charmed. Avengers Assemble — the original recipe.

Uncanny Treks: Black Knight-Curse of the Ebony Blade (2021, Comic)

Dane Whitman can't catch a break — and that's the point. Bob and Matt unsheathe Si Spurrier's five-issue Black Knight miniseries, spinning out of King in Black: a cursed sword that feeds on darkness, a new enemy with an Ebony Dagger, and a quest from Camelot to modern New York. They dig into the blade's brutal new mythology, Elsa Bloodstone's scene-stealing, and Thor's duel with the original Black Knight. Dark, weird, and better than it had any right to be.
