Here is an amazing bit of news. Did you know that the greatest drop- out rates are seen with adult students 30-55 years of age. Many in this age group place great emphasis on the importance of education, especially for their children or younger persons in their family, church or neighborhood. However, when you hear their words to the younger ones you can’t help wondering why they “did not” or “do not” pursue their goals. Adults can create so many excuses for not returning and succeeding in school/college or at work. The most common excuses are “I don’t have time now that I have kids”; “My work schedule is too busy”; “I still owe student loans”; “I am way too old to start now”; “I can’t do it online because I’m not smart with computers”; I had a reading or math disability”; “Things have changed there’s so much violence”….. And there are so many more ...
