Good morning. Arkansas. I'm Aaron Jolly.
Step outside right now and you'll feel it. That thick, humid air that tells you something's brewing. We're sitting at 62 degrees statewide with dewpoints in the low 60s. That's fuel.
Today brings one last gasp of warmth before everything changes. Central Arkansas climbs to 83 degrees — running about 41 degrees above normal for early March. Northwest Arkansas tops out at 76, northeast hits 78. South winds gust to 25 miles an hour all afternoon, pumping in that Gulf moisture like a furnace.
But A cold front is bearing down tonight. And it's packing serious punch. Northwest Arkansas sees the first wave around 9 this evening — storms capable of large hail, damaging winds. And tornadoes.
