Taking Chances in Modern Star Trek Storytelling

Mike and Steve discuss whether the Star Trek franchise could benefit from higher stakes and more permanent consequences for main characters. They explore how serialized dramas like The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones handle character mortality compared to the generally episodic nature of Trek series like Enterprise, Voyager, and Discovery. The hosts also dive into the frequent use of time travel across the franchise, the geographical layout of the galaxy, and how Star Trek Online helps unify the continuity of various series.
