Let me break it down. Southeast Alaska is getting absolutely hammered by wind right now. Juneau and Douglas are under a High Wind Warning with gusts hitting 80 miles an hour — strong enough to knock down trees and flip trash cans into next week. These Taku winds peak this morning, then ease off by tonight. Despite the chaos, you're actually the warmest spot in the state at 27 degrees under sunny skies. That calm doesn't last though — snow returns Tuesday as a storm rolls in. Now shift north to the Interior, where Fairbanks is buried in a full-blown snowstorm.
