Temporada 1
It launched, dear listener. It works. There was cake. And a kingdom that has finally built something real now faces its most dangerous discovery yet: a number that goes up. Tonight: success is measured, then the measurement is worshipped, then the worship is optimised. Twice. In opposite directions. Eleven tokens, dear listener. Remember the eleven tokens. Chapter 11 - The Incident
At 11:52 on a Thursday night, a very confident machine gives a very expensive answer. By dawn there is a war room, strong coffee, and a hunt. Not for the cause, dear listener. For the owner. Tonight the kingdom discovers what happens to responsibility in a fully automated organisation. It doesn't disappear. It moves. Listen for where it lands.Chapter 12 - The Decision
The kingdom acquires a new voice tonight, dear listener. Polished, connected, and on first-name terms with everyone you have ever heard of. She has come to help tell the story. Stories are rather her thing. Then: three doors. Build. Borrow. Buy. An evaluation, conducted with completely open minds. Officially. Officially. How does a kingdom dismantle something that works, dear listener? Carefully. Professionally. With paperwork so immaculate it could be mistaken for mercy. Tonight: evidence argues with authority and learns its place, five long-locked levers move all at once, and a team discovers what 'transition' means when it happens to you. Everyone handles the ending the way they handled the beginning. Almost everyone. The transformation is complete, dear listener, and tonight the kingdom gathers to celebrate itself. A stirring tale, beautifully told, in which certain names appear rather more often than you might remember — and every word of it written by a machine. Then the applause cools into arithmetic: a pay freeze for the many, bonuses for the few, and a bright new promise that everyone, now, is a developer. When the lights go down, two quieter reckonings remain. One, across a desk, about what 'family' was always going to cost. And one at a midnight kitchen table, where a very tired engineer opens a chat window to write the angriest resignation of his life. What happens next is between him and the machine. Time has passed, dear listener, and nothing is wrong. Nothing, anywhere, is wrong. That is the strange part. The tools are everywhere now. In the mail, in the meetings, and somewhere altogether closer than that. Tonight the kingdom unveils its boldest idea yet about what to build when building costs nothing. The kingdom has never produced more. Of what, nobody asks. Congratulations are in order, dear listener. The kingdom needs someone to lead the next phase, and it has found him. Credible with the floor, fluent with the top, trusted by absolutely everyone. Which is, of course, precisely the problem. Tonight: an announcement at nine a.m. sharp, two men who each believed it would be them, and a title that comes with rather more paperwork than titles used to. Some gifts arrive pre-addressed. We end where we began, dear listener: the same hall, the same chairs. They remember you. They have missed you. And a familiar meeting, with a new name on the running order. One last all-hands. One last journey. A company that can now produce anything, faster than anyone can ask whether it should. And one final question, which I leave with you, since you have sat so patiently through all seventeen moons: if everyone stops thinking... who will be left to judge what is worth doing?
