Alastair Humphries wrote a wonderful book called "Micro Adventures," and it had so many beautiful ideas for adventures in his locality outside of work hours. Most of those adventures didn't feel feasible for mom with small children or for family adventures, so we grasped his idea and decided to try to make it applicable for families.
