Day One: Proverbs 1 and Psalms 1–5 Proverbs 1 - Warning against the enticement of sinners and the call to wisdom - Wisdom personified cries aloud in the streets, but fools reject her Psalm 1 - Blessed is the man who delights in God’s law and avoids the wicked - The righteous prosper like a tree by water; the wicked are like chaff blown away Psalm 2 - Nations rage and kings conspire against the Lord and His Anointed - God laughs at them, declares His Son as King on Zion, and warns rulers to submit Psalm 3 - David trusts God as his shield amid many enemies and slander - Salvation belongs to the Lord; He sustains David and delivers him Psalm 4 - David prays for relief and trusts God to hear him in distress - God has set him apart; he finds peace and joy in God alone Psalm 5 - David pleads for guidance and protection from evil men - The righteous rejoice in God’s favor; the wicked are rejected from His presence

Day 2: from Proverbs and Psalms

Day 2: from Proverbs and Psalms Proverbs 2 - Wisdom calls for seeking understanding like hidden treasure, leading to the fear of the Lord and knowledge of God. - It protects from the ways of evil men and immoral women, guiding the righteous to walk in integrity. Psalm 6 - David pleads for mercy in deep distress, crying out to God amid tears and weakness. - He trusts that the Lord hears his prayer and will turn back his enemies in shame. Psalm 7 - David appeals to God as righteous judge to deliver him from his pursuers and to vindicate him. - He declares his innocence and asks the Lord to punish the wicked according to their own evil. Psalm 8 - The psalmist marvels at God’s majesty displayed in creation and the dignity given to humanity. - Despite human smallness, God crowns mankind with glory and sets them over all His works. Psalm 9 - David praises God for His righteous judgment and victory over the wicked nations. - He declares that the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed and will never forsake those who seek Him. Psalm 10 - The psalmist laments the arrogance of the wicked who prosper while denying God. - He calls on the Lord to rise up, break the power of the evil, and establish justice for the poor and humble.

Day 3: from Proverbs and Psalms

Proverbs 3 - Urges keeping God's commands for long life, peace, and favor; bind mercy and truth around your neck and trust fully in the Lord rather than your own understanding. - Promises blessings like health and prosperity for honoring God with substance, accepting His discipline, and pursuing wisdom, which is more valuable than silver, gold, or rubies. Psalms 171-175 - Psalm 171: A prayer for deliverance from enemies, affirming righteousness and calling on God to arise and confront the wicked. - Psalm 172: Praise for God's lovingkindness; the psalmist seeks refuge under His wings and satisfaction in His presence, contrasting the abundance of the righteous with the destruction of the wicked. - Psalm 173: A short call for all nations and peoples to praise the Lord for His enduring mercy and truth. - Psalm 174: Thanksgiving for victory over enemies, attributing triumph to God's strength and mercy while declaring Him as rock, shield, and savior. - Psalm 175: Praise to God as creator of heavens and earth, who shows steadfast love to Israel, humbles the proud, and provides for all creation.

Day 4: from Proverbs and Psalms

Proverbs 4 - Wisdom is the principal thing; pursue her as treasure and she will promote and honor you. - Avoid the path of the wicked; guard your heart diligently, for out of it spring the issues of life. Psalm 16 - The Lord is the psalmist's chosen portion, refuge, and inheritance; in His presence is fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore. Psalm 17 - David pleads for vindication and protection from enemies, seeking to awaken satisfied with beholding God's face in righteousness. Psalm 18 - David praises the Lord as his strength and deliverer who powerfully rescued him from enemies and rewarded his righteousness. Psalm 19 - The heavens silently declare God's glory; His perfect law revives the soul, and David prays for cleansing from hidden and presumptuous sins. Psalm 20 - The psalm prays for the king's deliverance and victory in trouble, trusting in the name of the Lord rather than chariots and horses.

Day 5: from Proverbs and Psalms

Proverbs 5 - Stern warning against the seductive adulterous woman whose path leads to death and Sheol - Exhortation to delight in the wife of your youth and avoid giving your strength to strangers Psalm 21 - The king rejoices in God's strength and salvation, receiving blessings and life forever Psalm 22 - Cry of anguish and abandonment by God, yet trust in deliverance amid mocking enemies Psalm 23 - The Lord as shepherd providing guidance, comfort, and abundance even in dark valleys Psalm 24 - The earth belongs to the Lord; the pure in heart may ascend His hill and receive blessing Psalm 25 - Prayer for guidance, forgiveness, and protection, waiting on the Lord who teaches the humble

Day 6: from Proverbs and Psalms

Proverbs 6 - warnings against guaranteeing another's debt, laziness (like the ant's example), and the destructive ways of the wicked - seven things the Lord hates: haughty eyes, lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, heart devising wicked plans, feet rushing to evil, false witness, and one who sows discord - dangers of adultery: it leads to loss of honor, wealth, health, and life, bringing ruin like fire - command to obey parental teaching and keep wisdom to avoid the adulteress's flattery and deadly path Psalms 26-30 - Psalm 26: David asks God to examine his integrity and declares trust in the Lord without wavering - Psalm 27: the Lord is light and salvation, so fear no one; seek to dwell in His house - Psalm 28: plea for God not to ignore cries, but to punish the wicked and strengthen His people - Psalm 29: give glory to God for His powerful voice, which controls nature and reigns forever - Psalm 30: thanksgiving for deliverance from near-death, turning weeping into joyful dancing

Day 7: from Proverbs and Psalms

Proverbs 7 - A father urges his son to cherish wisdom and insight as close kin, for they protect from the seductive adulterous woman and her flattering words. - He describes a naive young man lured by a crafty prostitute to her bed while her husband is away, leading him like an animal to slaughter and death. Psalms 31 - 35 - Psalm 31: David seeks refuge in the Lord amid distress and enemies, committing his spirit to God, trusting in deliverance and praising His unfailing love and protection. - Psalm 32: Blessedness comes from confessed sin and forgiveness; God protects and instructs the repentant, surrounding them with love and deliverance. - Psalm 33: Call to praise the faithful Creator whose word formed all things; His plans endure, and He watches over those who fear and hope in Him. - Psalm 34: David extols constant praise, testifying that God delivers the fearful and righteous from troubles, encamping angels around them and providing every good thing. - Psalm 35: David pleads for God to fight his unjust enemies, repay their evil, and vindicate him, promising public thanks and praise for salvation.

Day 8: from Proverbs and Psalms

Proverbs 8 - Wisdom personified calls aloud in public places, inviting all to listen and gain understanding, for her words are righteous, true, and more valuable than riches. - Created by God before the world began, Wisdom was present at creation and delights in humanity; those who find her find life and God's favor, while rejecting her leads to death. Psalms 36-40 - Psalm 36: Sin flatters the wicked who have no fear of God, but God's steadfast love extends to the heavens; humanity finds refuge and abundant life in Him. - Psalm 37: Do not fret over evildoers; trust in the Lord, do good, and inherit the land, for the righteous will endure while the wicked perish. - Psalm 38: The psalmist pleads for mercy amid suffering from sin and enemies, confessing iniquity and trusting God not to forsake him. - Psalm 39: Aware of life's brevity, the psalmist restrains his tongue, asks God to remove affliction, and seeks hope before death. - Psalm 40: God lifted the psalmist from despair, gave a new song of praise; true sacrifice is obedience to God's will, and he waits patiently for deliverance.

Day 9: from Proverbs and Psalms.

Proverbs 9 - Wisdom builds her house, prepares a feast, and invites the simple to come, eat, and gain insight for a better life. - Folly mimics wisdom's call but leads the naive to death through secret pleasures. Psalms 41-45 - Psalm 41: Blessing comes to those who care for the weak; David prays for mercy amid betrayal and illness, trusting God's upholding. - Psalm 42: The psalmist longs deeply for God like a deer for water, amid distress and taunting, yet urges his soul to hope in God. - Psalm 43: A plea for vindication and guidance by God's light to His dwelling, ending with hope in God despite downcast soul. - Psalm 44: Recalls God's past victories for Israel, laments current defeat and shame despite faithfulness, and cries for awakening and redemption. - Psalm 45: A royal wedding song praising the majestic, righteous king and beautiful bride, foretelling eternal praise for his name.

Day 10: from Proverbs and Psalms

Proverbs 10 - the wise son brings joy to parents, but the foolish brings grief; righteous living yields blessing, diligence leads to abundance while laziness to poverty - honest speech is precious and brings life, hatred stirs strife; the wise store knowledge, the righteous find lasting hope and security Psalms 46 - God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble; though earth shake and mountains fall into the sea, we will not fear, for He makes wars cease and is exalted Psalms 47 - clap hands and shout to God with cries of joy; the Lord Most High reigns over all nations from His holy throne, He subdues peoples and chooses our inheritance Psalms 48 - great is the Lord in Zion, beautiful in elevation and joy of the earth; God makes His city secure forever, consider her ramparts and tell the next generation He is our guide Psalms 49 - hear this, all peoples: riches cannot redeem life or avert death; the wise and foolish alike perish, but God will ransom my soul from the grave and receive me Psalms 50 - the Mighty One calls heaven and earth to judge His people; offer thanksgiving as sacrifice and call on Me in trouble for deliverance; the wicked are rebuked for hypocrisy in reciting statutes while hating discipline
